Cars: Asset or Liability?

Today, commercial ads are mostly about cars, and it got me thinking: are cars worth all the money? Sure, it saves us the trouble of falling in line in taxi stands and sitting on public transportation while sniffing on the sweaty armpits of the person next to you, but you have to consider the fact that you’d also have to pay for the maintenance of the car and parking fees!

I’d prefer riding a bike, but nowadays, riding a bicycle actually turns you into an instant roadkill (well for me at least). I’ve seen too many car accidents with bicycles involved and I can really say that it’s not pretty (it’s actually given me many nightmares!), so I just stick with public transportation. Even though it has disadvantages, you could actually save the environment AND save money, too!

True Happiness

The key to happiness isn’t always earning a lot of money.

You could earn millions a week, yet still be sad and depressed about it. It’s the little things in life. You just need to know how to appreciate them and be happy.

I’ll always choose a low pay job doing what I love than being a sad corporate puppet anyday.

Gadget World

In the fast-paced society that we live in now, we all depend on gadgets.

Look, almost all of us have cellular phones. We even give it out to people whom we just met along with our names.

Music lovers have iPods, and gamers have PS2s, PS3s, and XBOX 360s. Businessmen and women have Blackberries, and young and old people alike have laptops.

Apple has so many products that we all use in everyday living, it’s just so amazing how they get all these ideas, innovate them, sell them to the public, and make us all believe we can’t live without them once we buy them.

Now most of us can’t live without our iPods. Take me, for example.

Groceries Galore

I have a little trick that I could teach you, readers, about shopping for groceries. Normally, people would either make a grocery list and stick with it or be entirely spontaneous and grab the things that they see if they either like it or need it.

I do my shopping a little differently. I write all the things I need down, and set a budget before going to the supermarket. When I get there I shop and grab all the items on my list, and separate the things I just see and end up craving for. As I reach the cashier, I get all the things I need punched first, and see if my budget allows me to purchase the things I don’t need but want, and if it does, I buy them.

I’ve ended up saving a lot of money with this method, feel free to try it yourself.

The Epic Music Industry

I have always been interested in music since I was young, and I can say that music plays a huge role in my life.

I long for the day when the music industry rises to the top, and everyone appreciates it.

I really love playing in front of big crowds and showing them what I got. It’s what makes me happy.

Sad part is, making money in the music industry isn’t so easy. Most people’s parents won’t even approve of their child becoming a musician, and it’s frustrating, for there are so many people with great talents that can actually shine out there.

DSLR: Is It Really Worth It?

I’ve been writing the pros and cons for a DSLR to see if it’s actually worth it. So far I’ve only come up with this:

1. It’s too expensive for a camera.

2. I’m someone passionate about photos and I love the fact that I get to keep every single detail about that special moment on a single photo.

3. It’s too bulky and heavy, therefore it attracts the attention of many snatchers.

4. Even if they’re bulky and heavy, there are DSLRs that are as small as digital cameras, too! There’s just a wide variety of them around.

Outweighing these pros and cons is actually quite hard, but then again, I do believe that the joy of doing something you love outweighs everything else. It’s just different for all of us anyway.

Young and Earning

Young artists out there are truly remarkable.

At their young age, they already made a mark in the world, and are earning so much.

I used to dream of being one of them when I was young, I even practiced acting in front of the mirror.

I had this fantasy of being in hollywood, you see.

Doing what you love and earning money from it would be one of life’s greatest pleasures.

Sex Sells

Let’s face it.

Sex sells, just like I said in this entry’s title. It’s rare to find advertisements nowadays where a naked man or woman doesn’t exist. It is undoubtedly one of the most effective strategies of marketing in the world.

It’s sad, really, how we all are driven by our libidos. You can’t deny it, gender and sexuality exists in almost all aspects in life. We call people sexist, most of the terms we generally use are in favor of males, so we can’t really help it anyway.

The question is, why do men find curvy women attractive? Studies say that bigger breasts and hips, (generally a voluptuous figure) are signs of fertility, and, well, we have sexual organs to procreate, therefore, seeing a very shapely body turns us on in a way.

We can’t deny ourselves of our nature, and I guess this is why sex sells, up to this day.

Skins Again

Like my previous post, I still am going to write about that Skins episode.

I didn’t really think that being in the real estate business is hard. All I knew about it is you had to have the people skills.

The problem is, talking is not the only solution for this.

Who would spend so much money in an instant anyway? It made me realize, you really needed to know how to touch the people you want to sell your house or apartment to. And by touch I meant get to their good side and show them that the house is worth it, you know? Not anything else!

Debt and the Problems It Causes

I’ve always feared debts inside me. Do you want to know why?

Not only do they result in lawsuits if taken lightly or for granted, but they also end up destroying trust and ruining friendships. Sure, there are debts out there that offer you low rates or even zero percent interest, but do you really think it’s worth it? Money or goods owed by a person to another isn’t always a good thing.

I’d rather spend money I have or saving up for it than drowning myself in debt just because I want to buy something.
