the importance of corporate lawyers

We’re currently in need of an Attorney Referral with the recurring problems our HR manager has been having in hiring people. In fact, I think now is the time to consider having a corporate lawyer with our constant expansion.

You see, one of the common problems our HR is experiencing is the unexpected quitting or AWOL of new employees who have already signed their contracts. Some of which have even stayed for more than a week.

With this unforeseen predicament, our clients are getting disappointed in our employee selection process. From what I can see, if we have a well drafted employee contract with a corporate lawyer to enforce its validity, we will have minimal to no problem with regards to this issue.

Promoting your Company with Custom Bags

My company is planning to promote our new service and asked us to come up with promotional ideas. They all suggested the usual “Pen!”, “How about a notepad?”, “Stickers, anyone?”

Exasperated, I decided to have a short look around inside the conference room to keep my exasperation from showing. Then my eyes accidentally landed on our stock of Reclosable Bags. Why not?

I went out for several minutes, did a quick research about promotional Plastic Bag and found a company called International Plastics who does Retail Trade Show Bags. Amazing. This company has been in the custom polyethylene packaging business for almost 40 years and provides packaging solutions at a price that will definitely leave you wondering how they do it.

I quickly wrapped up my ideas, went back inside the conference room, and excitedly suggested, “Everyone needs a plastic bag at one point or another. Why don’t we use custom bags instead? That way, it will also be promoted to other people who see those bags being carried by our loyal subscribers?” They love the idea and started everyone to work on it.

printers are still necessary in our “paperless society”

One of the advantages of being in the internet business is the savings you get from promoting a “paperless society”. Still, this does not mean that companies should not invest in printers and ink cartridges. After all, there are still other companies you may encounter and be affiliated with who prefer having documents in black and white (printed at that).

If you’re going to invest in printers, I suggest you buy multi-purpose equipment – a printer, scanner, and photocopier in one. After all, every office will need to scan, print, and/or photocopy every now and then. Having multi-purpose equipment like that within the vicinity can save you a lot of time.

Happy to help the company

Everyone’s talking about the economic recession in our country. You’ll hear it in the news and read it in the newspapers. One of the most important industries affected is the real estate and lots of estate companies have already went down. This may be tragic for the companies but is an advantage for new families planning to buy new houses. House and lot prices started to go down since November of last year.

As for our company, we are still unaffected by the recession but certain cost cutting measures are now being implemented. The work processes were revised for efficient use of time. Hard copy documents were converted to soft copy and were included in the database for less cost due to office supplies. Even our summer outing to the Outer Banks was canceled and was just converted to cash bonus.

All the employees in the company are giving their share just to keep the company running. This time of crisis really showed how people can unite and help each other. We at our company are happy to assist each other in any way. And with this I can say that I am proud to be a part of this united company.

Obesity in Business = Bad

It’s 2009. While the rest of the world is busy trying to live up to their recently concocted resolutions, I bet there is one resolution they’re having a hard time sticking to – losing weight.

Seriously, obesity is becoming a problem even in the business world that we really ought to do something about it. I mean, just recently, one of the project managers in my company got a memo because one of her teams is not performing well. I later found out that it’s because their team leader have not been able to report for work a lot of times over the past two months and consequently was not able to supervise his team well. When asked for his reason, he said he had been having heart problems due to his being overweight. Looking at his really huge figure, he need not say more.

Still, business is business. We’re here to make profit… Hmmm… perhaps we should resort to company sponsored weight loss pills and free fitness center memberships. What do you think?

Recognition and Appreciation

I’m currently the project manager of our company, and I started as creative writer, one of the lowest positions there. Based on my experience, happy employees are more productive and energetic, thus provide better performance at work. Three of my subordinates underwent a six-month probationary period. On the third day of February, they will become regulars and I thought about giving them workplace awards. They have been doing pretty well since they started working in the company. I have seen a great amount of improvement in them - they always do their best to provide our customers with the best service.

If we ignore our subordinates and just treat them like machines, they will most probably be depressed at work and produce a gloomy atmosphere in the workplace. Remember to always cheer up your subordinates by giving them a pat in the shoulder or recognizing their great performance every now and then, and they’ll surely thank you by doing their best in everything they do.

Business Ventures

If you’re one of those many people thinking about investing a huge amount of money, or just hard earned money you have worked so hard for in a certain company or project, I have a few questions that could help you.

First of all, do you trust the person or the company you will be performing the deal with? And are these people involved in the deal capable of showing you original papers from the government proving that they’re not pretending to be someone they are not?

These are the two questions that, in my opinion, are the main basis of investing money on a company. Of course, these aren’t the ONLY questions you should be asking yourself. I’m just trying to help.

On Intellectual Properties - poor man’s copyright

Before sharing any idea or posting something you made on the internet, make sure you have made a copyright of some sort on it before you do. An NDA or Non-Disclosure Agreement at least. It isn’t safe to be exposing your creative juices to someone. They might steal your ideas.

My sister told me about the poor man’s copyright. All you have to do is snail mail it to yourself and don’t open it. The court recognizes the validity of that sealed, stamped mail. That’s it. Easy as pie, right?

Precautions are better than facing the hard situation itself, that’s the whole point of this post.

The Easier Way To Sell Property

If you’re planning to sell property, I suggest you make an online website to make things easier for you. Instead of running around asking people to check your property if they’re interested, or buying expensive billboards to be able to post your contact number, do this! You see, if you have an online website, then more people can see what you’re selling and they can also share their opinions about what you’re selling thru comments and such. You don’t have to tire yourself in talking about the same old things.

Try getting a web host in the meantime. Get one with a reliable server that doesn’t crash all the time! I suggest webhostingchoice.com since it has a user-friendly layout so it’s pretty easy to navigate. This site also helps you choose the right web host for personal or business websites (you’re on the business site, of course). Whether you’re making a small or a large e-commerce site, try this hosting site first! I approve of this site since its layout is fantastic and well, I can say I judge websites thru their layouts most of the time.

Get a user-friendly layout ‘cause if your layout is hard to navigate, then soon-to-be customers would be pretty annoyed and hit that close button instead. And don’t forget to post the most beautiful pictures of your property! This way, you can attract more customers. Don’t forget to advertise your site to your friends and ask them to refer your site to other people as well.

Comments and suggestions regarding the topic are highly appreciated.

BINGO!

I have always believed in the saying that all work and no play make life dull. Since I do not like dull atmospheres in workplaces, I thought of suggesting a Bingo event to my boss. Not only is Bingo fun, it can also develop a stronger bond between our employees, thus providing a light, happy atmosphere in our office.

I especially emphasized that we should play online Bingo when we have free time because the employees can meet a lot of virtual friends, friends from different time zones, places and cultures. Our customers are also found in the world wide web so they also practice different cultures and believe in different sentiments. This way we can relate to our customers better since we have friends similar to them. Who knows? Maybe our virtual friends can be of help to us in the future. As the saying goes, Make new friends, but keep the old; Those are silver, these are gold.
