Promoting your Company with Custom Bags

My company is planning to promote our new service and asked us to come up with promotional ideas. They all suggested the usual “Pen!”, “How about a notepad?”, “Stickers, anyone?”

Exasperated, I decided to have a short look around inside the conference room to keep my exasperation from showing. Then my eyes accidentally landed on our stock of Reclosable Bags. Why not?

I went out for several minutes, did a quick research about promotional Plastic Bag and found a company called International Plastics who does Retail Trade Show Bags. Amazing. This company has been in the custom polyethylene packaging business for almost 40 years and provides packaging solutions at a price that will definitely leave you wondering how they do it.

I quickly wrapped up my ideas, went back inside the conference room, and excitedly suggested, “Everyone needs a plastic bag at one point or another. Why don’t we use custom bags instead? That way, it will also be promoted to other people who see those bags being carried by our loyal subscribers?” They love the idea and started everyone to work on it.

Time - the most taken-for-granted resource

I remembered seeing a commercial by Swatch watch with the theme song, “Something About You” by Maroon 5. This got me into thinking and reevaluating how important time is.

I also read somewhere that the most important thing you can give someone is not Love, but time. I completely agree. Because love, you can freely give it to anyone whom you like at any time; but time is constrained and limited. The time you spent with someone or used for someone can never be recalled or reused to do something else or for future use. It’s as good as loss if you wasted it.

This also holds true when it comes to business. As I’ve read in a book by Francisco Colayco, “All of us, rich and poor, has the same amount of time… Time is a resource…Time is the most taken-for-granted resource.” That is, if someone makes you wait for an hour for nothing, that someone is actually stealing time from you wherein you could have been productive or you could have used it to earn income. That one hour is lost forever, and can never be returned.

So, before doing something, ask yourself this important question, “Is it worth my time?”

company outing plans for the summer

This summer, my colleagues and I are planning to hold our company outing at Beach Palace Cancun, Mexico. This place opened early 2007 and has luxurious rooms with double Jacuzzis! Of course, only the top guns get to avail those rooms.

Still, we are sure to have a great time especially since our package includes water sports activities, one scuba diving demonstration, and use of their new ultra-modern spa. Everyone’s more enthusiastic with the fact that they can finally wear scuba diving gear and beach clothes.

To cap it off, our other colleagues with kids need not worry about taking care of them because their kids will be busy participating in the “Kidz Club” activities such as hand crafts, painting lessons, sand castles, hide and seek, ice cream time, cinema, and a Pinata party. Summer, here we come!

availing of asset protection planning

A friend recently asked me to help her out with estate planning in Nevada. At the mention of Nevada, the words “CSI Las Vegas” started blinking in my mind. I think I had too much CSI marathons for the week.

Anyhow, I asked her what in particular does she need help in estate planning. She said she needs to elaborate more on the asset protection planning in real estate Nevada since her company is planning to acquire office spaces there with their inevitable expansion next year. Just so you know, asset protection planning generally means ensuring that your assets are well-protected from claims of future creditors by making use of a well-planned series of lawful techniques. In short, lawful techniques are applied to deter or frustrate potential creditors to grab hold of your assets.

I guess her boss really means business if a simple buying of real estate in Nevada involves asset protection planning. Then again, one can never be too sure…

my homage to Greece

After re-reading Bulfinch’s Mythology, and Aristophanes’ Lysistrata, my urge for holidays to Greece was reinforced. Just imagining stepping inside the Parthenon, visiting the Temple of Artemis, the Acropolis, the Arch of Hadrian, and the Temple of Zeus at Olympia sends me shivers of excitement…

Who wouldn’t want to visit Greece to pay homage to the place that produced the writers Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides, and Aristophanes, and the philosophers Aristotle, Socrates, Plato, and my favorite - Epicurus? Let’s also not forget Alexander the Great. In case you do not know, Greece, according to Wikipedia, is usually regarded as “the birthplace of the first major democracy, Western philosophy, the Olympic Games, Western literature, political science, major scientific and mathematic principles, and Western drama - including both tragedy and comedy.”

Who knows, after visiting that place, I just might be inspired enough to write my own book – something everyone has been encouraging me to do since high school.

do not rush in getting debt relief services

In the fell clutches of circumstances, some people cannot help but have bad credit loans. However, this is quite demeaning especially since with a record of “bad credit” you will have a hard time paying off your debts and rebuilding your credit history because you wouldn’t be able to get another loan or chance.

It’s a sort of stigma. Which is why, a lot of people just jump at the opportunity of being approved by the first mail offer that comes their way. This shouldn’t be the case.

Breaking yourself off your “bad credit” stigma need not be complicated or rushed. Do not be hasty when looking for a credit repair and debt relief services. There are lots of services like that available nowadays and some even has a “no-obligation assessment” to help you start.

NYC apartment rentals

Kristina, one of my childhood friends, will be going to New York to attend a short course about online entrepreneurship next year. She’s currently on a hunt for nyc apartments for rent since the course will last for six months.

From what I’ve heard, although there are hundreds of nyc apartment rentals, the rate can be quite high considering the location. After all, New York is “the city that never sleeps”. Anyhow, Kristina’s settling in one of the manhattan apartment rentals that is near the building where her short course will take place. Her trip to New York is company sponsored so she was able to get a cozy apartment in a great location.

Hmmmm… I’m considering dropping by and crashing into her apartment while she’s in New York and see for myself how cozy her apartment is.

printers are still necessary in our “paperless society”

One of the advantages of being in the internet business is the savings you get from promoting a “paperless society”. Still, this does not mean that companies should not invest in printers and ink cartridges. After all, there are still other companies you may encounter and be affiliated with who prefer having documents in black and white (printed at that).

If you’re going to invest in printers, I suggest you buy multi-purpose equipment – a printer, scanner, and photocopier in one. After all, every office will need to scan, print, and/or photocopy every now and then. Having multi-purpose equipment like that within the vicinity can save you a lot of time.

forced savings in 2008

My parents invested a large amount of their retirement pay in our house. Consequently they are financially challenged until their pension resumes in 2009. This is why I am very grateful for whoever invented personal loans which helped us survive this ordeal.

With my recent promotion as project manager, my parents asked me to donate a huge chunk of my salary, 1/3 to be exact, to our home expenses until their pension resumes. This will minimize our need to avail of loans. I’m not that worried about losing a lot of money though because I’m currently living in a spacious house within a secured and scenic village. Besides, they promised to pay me off in 2009. So it’s more of a forced savings for me.

the importance of corporate lawyers

We’re currently in need of an Attorney Referral with the recurring problems our HR manager has been having in hiring people. In fact, I think now is the time to consider having a corporate lawyer with our constant expansion.

You see, one of the common problems our HR is experiencing is the unexpected quitting or AWOL of new employees who have already signed their contracts. Some of which have even stayed for more than a week.

With this unforeseen predicament, our clients are getting disappointed in our employee selection process. From what I can see, if we have a well drafted employee contract with a corporate lawyer to enforce its validity, we will have minimal to no problem with regards to this issue.
