my homage to Greece

After re-reading Bulfinch’s Mythology, and Aristophanes’ Lysistrata, my urge for holidays to Greece was reinforced. Just imagining stepping inside the Parthenon, visiting the Temple of Artemis, the Acropolis, the Arch of Hadrian, and the Temple of Zeus at Olympia sends me shivers of excitement…

Who wouldn’t want to visit Greece to pay homage to the place that produced the writers Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides, and Aristophanes, and the philosophers Aristotle, Socrates, Plato, and my favorite - Epicurus? Let’s also not forget Alexander the Great. In case you do not know, Greece, according to Wikipedia, is usually regarded as “the birthplace of the first major democracy, Western philosophy, the Olympic Games, Western literature, political science, major scientific and mathematic principles, and Western drama - including both tragedy and comedy.”

Who knows, after visiting that place, I just might be inspired enough to write my own book – something everyone has been encouraging me to do since high school.

do not rush in getting debt relief services

In the fell clutches of circumstances, some people cannot help but have bad credit loans. However, this is quite demeaning especially since with a record of “bad credit” you will have a hard time paying off your debts and rebuilding your credit history because you wouldn’t be able to get another loan or chance.

It’s a sort of stigma. Which is why, a lot of people just jump at the opportunity of being approved by the first mail offer that comes their way. This shouldn’t be the case.

Breaking yourself off your “bad credit” stigma need not be complicated or rushed. Do not be hasty when looking for a credit repair and debt relief services. There are lots of services like that available nowadays and some even has a “no-obligation assessment” to help you start.

NYC apartment rentals

Kristina, one of my childhood friends, will be going to New York to attend a short course about online entrepreneurship next year. She’s currently on a hunt for nyc apartments for rent since the course will last for six months.

From what I’ve heard, although there are hundreds of nyc apartment rentals, the rate can be quite high considering the location. After all, New York is “the city that never sleeps”. Anyhow, Kristina’s settling in one of the manhattan apartment rentals that is near the building where her short course will take place. Her trip to New York is company sponsored so she was able to get a cozy apartment in a great location.

Hmmmm… I’m considering dropping by and crashing into her apartment while she’s in New York and see for myself how cozy her apartment is.

forced savings in 2008

My parents invested a large amount of their retirement pay in our house. Consequently they are financially challenged until their pension resumes in 2009. This is why I am very grateful for whoever invented personal loans which helped us survive this ordeal.

With my recent promotion as project manager, my parents asked me to donate a huge chunk of my salary, 1/3 to be exact, to our home expenses until their pension resumes. This will minimize our need to avail of loans. I’m not that worried about losing a lot of money though because I’m currently living in a spacious house within a secured and scenic village. Besides, they promised to pay me off in 2009. So it’s more of a forced savings for me.

foreclosure - man’s loss and gain

Foreclosure - an act or instance of foreclosing; specifically : a legal proceeding that bars or extinguishes a mortgagor’s right of redeeming a mortgaged estate — Merriam-Webster

One man’s loss is another man’s gain. This holds true especially when it comes to real estate.

Home foreclosures can be pretty devastating to a person. Then again, houses in foreclosures are the gold mine for people hunting for houses. This is because searching through bank houses is one of the best ways to find incredible bargains in Real Estate.

As with any other business transactions, make sure to do in depth research when you’re planing to invest in foreclosures. If you do good research, you just might be able to get one at around 30% off and be assured that there are no liens against it. Still, the safest way of purchasing foreclosed houses is to buy bank owned homes (REO) because of the guaranteed clear property titles.

Happy bargaining!

guiltless deluxe vacation home renting

Some people turn their nose down on vacation home rentals and consider them as luxuries that you can definitely do without.

True. But then again, having one of those Lake Tahoe vacation home rentals or even an Orlando vacation rentals makes that luxury worth your money. It’s not every day when you can get some time off your stressful work for a heavenly vacation. So why not make the most out of it by renting a villa? Get a deluxe one while you’re at it. Pampering yourself every now and then should be a guilt free reward. As my friend Nap keeps telling me – work hard, play harder.

Oh, and in case you aren’t aware, you can book vacation rentals in top resort areas and be able to save up to 30% on rental rates – provided you find a good resource for that of course.

ride the car elevator at charlotte’s NC

I have always associated the name Charlotte with the book Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White. Anyhow, I was surprised that there’s a city named Charlotte in North Carolina (NC) when I encountered an article entitled “Encore Charlotte Condos”. It’s even considered as the largest city in NC.

What surprised me more was the content of the article about Charlotte NC real estate. As if homes in Charlotte NC are not competitive enough, you will actually find something really amazing in luxury condos in North Carolina – a car elevator!

Yep, you can unload your groceries directly to your kitchen minus the hassle of ever leaving your car. In fact, as the article put it, you can “pull into the ground level car elevator and ride up to your private 2 or 4 car garage just outside of your high rise condo in downtown Charlotte…”

If you’re interested in this very efficient luxury condo, do take note that the condo will open doors in late fall 2009 and pre-construction buyers are given the privilege to design their living space to suit their tastes and the option to combine units (vertically or horizontally) at their convenience. So if I were you, I’d inquire a.s.a.p.
